How to build a fan shroud - Page 3

The card was just a guide so that I could get some measurements to then transfer on to a piece of aluminium sheet.

It would've been cool to make it out of cardboard, but I like to drive my car in the rain.

Looks like it'll all fit.

The design I came up with is basically a one-inch deep box that is the same size as the radiator core.

Always remember to keep all the important bits and pieces (Thingies) in a safe place where you won't lose them.

Freezer bags are great and if your wife doesn't see you, you can wash them out when you're finished and put them back in the cupboard.

...and Hey Presto! A fan shroud.

I cheated a little here and took the ally sheet to an engineering shop to get folded up. They also welded the corners and cut the holes out.

There was still plenty to do though.

To mount the fans I went and spent a few bucks on some stainless bits and pieces.
I drilled four holes for each fan and attached them with my shiny bits and pieces.
I put the screw heads to the inside so that I could have the neater acorn nuts showing.

All mounted up and looking good.

Keep in mind I was doing this without the car to measure things up.

Would it be a problem?
