Now it's starting to look like a hot rod motor. My mechanic (Mike Driver - P&M Automotive, Mona Vale) sprayed on the two pack red tinter. It turned out pretty much just how I planned it. He missed a bit on the bottom of the sump, but he's getting a bit old, so I'll let it slide. |

When it said on the box that these intakes were for 70 and up motors, I didn't really believe them. Oops... Turns out the four centre bolts are in a different location. No worries, re-drill those. Getting the sucker bolted down though took me TEN HOURS! Had to use header bolts and grind the crap out of every bolt hole. Just hope I don't have to get the sucker off! |

Had a bunch of stuff powder coated in a metallic silver and clear. Turned out pretty nice and is a nic offset to the red. Also spent a small fortune on polished stainless bolts. Apart from the head bolts, they're all shiny.

| So after a very long day and night, this is how far I got. At least it was starting to look like an engine. | ![]() |

I was now working to a deadline. June 19 was the Nostalgia Drags, and I was hell bent on making it. The date this pic was taken? 12th of June. One week to go and the carby was still in a million bits! |

Put a kit through the carb. Most expensive cardboard I've ever bought! Seems to be working and I didn't end up with too many spare parts. |

I reckon it turned out pretty nice. Pity I have to put it into an engine bay. Would've looked good in the lounge. |
