Rat Rod Day 2003

Another shot of the back corner with the "Mexicans".

Me trying to get arty again. I think this one actually worked though!

This Dodge Woody was for sale for $10,000. As you may know, I'm a bit of a surfer (well only a very small bit, but I try).

You can see where this is heading...

...Yep! Looks like I need one of these too. So how many cars is that now???

If it was a Model A woody, it would probably cost twice as much. Think of the money I'm saving honey! Honey!...???

I always thought this coupe was black, then I saw it in a magazine and it looked really purple.

On closer inspection it has a purple pearl laid over it. You can kind of see it on the rear fender.

The things you learn at rod runs!

Here's Paul's '56 Olds again. Another one of my favourite cars, so you guessed it, I took another pic.
Another Hot Rod I take way too many pics of. I just love the way it sits. I'm pretty sure there's no wussy air bags on this coupe!

I saw this chopped Chevy four door hardtop at the Bobbin Head run and took a couple of pics of it. Once again, couldn't walk past.

Do you think I need to go see a doctor?... maybe a shrink!

Hiding way down the other side of the line of cars were this dynamic duo of early Holdens.

Like the Humpies, they're starting to make a bit of a comeback amongst the custom crowd. Good to see them in the weeds with skinny wheels instead of jacked up with too fat tyres sticking out of the guards.

This late 60's Galaxie was parked inside, but I didn't bother to get a pic of it. I did notice the cross ram manifold on the FE big block though!

When he started it up and headed for the gate I thought I had better get out there and get some action shots.

Not as much smoke as I had hoped, but it seems to go alright for a TANK!

Last shot on the roll was saved for the Hudson sled and slid on past.

Looks just as good moving as it does standing still.

...but watch out! It's the "Rod Rider" again. That mongrel gets in all the good stories!
