Perth Visit August 2003 - Page 5

We're still on Craig's car. Even the paint in the window openings and dashboard is spot on.

More of those big ass wheels. Craig had them specially made to get the maximum dish. Interestingly, there's no tubs either, they fit in the original bodywork... just.
More paint detail.
The bags and more shiny paint where it has no right to be!

Even the air tank for the airbags got some custom paint.

Now that the car is painted it follows the same theme as the bottle.

The majority of the car is green, but it was a factory two tone car with the part in the lower half painted white.

Bushy has painted it so that the flames flow from the green into the white. It looks pretty neat.

And here's the man himself. He looks tired from all of that sanding and grinding on those suspension parts!

After checking out Craig's Chevy, it was a short trip down to the Guildford Hotel to check out the monthly get together. The owner of the Guildford is John Claydon who just happens to own a Willys (steel) drag car running a blown HEMI and fitted with a parachute.

On the first Sunday of every month, John ropes off part of the car park and lets all these repribates leak oil and drink beer all over it. Great guy. If I owned a pub, I'd do the same thing (but on a different Sunday).

The world's oldest Hot Rod (or at least it looks like it!). AB has driven this thing about 200,000 miles. It's been driven across the country more times than I've flown across it and it still looks good... in photos. :)
Great looking '30 Model Coupe. I sure like them there wheels.

No, they're not related.

I spotted this roadster at the Hot Rod Nationals in Geelong earlier in the year and was very surprised to see WA plates on it.

Very similar to how I would build a roadster.
