Another unique to Australia Chevy ute. I'd say ITSA '46. Looks a helluva lot like Ripper's '48, only it's red and clean and shiny and doesn't have any stone chips. |
|
Here's that wild '41 (or '42) Coupe that as setting the world on fire on the first page. Gotta love them Caddy caps and that just right shade of purple. |

Now this looks like a fully loaded EK wagon. Love the fancy trim and the fox tail of course, although, I don't think they came out of the factory with flipper caps. They should have though! |
|
Now this is my kind of Hot Rod. It's got all the right stuff, hairpins, steelies, wide whites and a chopped screen. I may be wrong, but I think this roadster was once black. That number plate seems vaguely familiar. |

During the course of the event there were even tattoo artists on hand. I think they were doing it for cut rate prices and you could have anything you wanted... as long as it was something to do with cars. I think this guy slipped through the net though. He's getting LEFT and RIGHT tattooed across his knuckles. |
|
Here's a couple more fairly well known Aussie Kustoms. The flat black one you can see more of on my Castlemaine page. The suede purple one I've seen before in various magazines, but don't know too much about. Looks like a very nice chop for a four door. |

Don't know if there was any surf around at the time, but who cares when you're cruisin' in a woodie this cool. One thing though mate. You've got too many fins on your board. In the infamous words of Joel Tudor - "One Fin, One God, One Country!" |
|
I told you there were one or two Fords there too! Check out this great collection of Deuces. Love your work Henry. |

This fine looking coupe won the Tina Memorial Award. Tina is John's wife who passed away recently. I think they give this award to the car that Tina would have liked the most. Good choice Tina. |
| This very clean and tidy roadster took out the Top Hot Rod Award. Well done mate. | ![]() |

I love this roadster. Great stance, great wheels, great pipes, great air cleaner, great pants... hang on, I'm not too sure about the pants. |
| I'm not 100% sure that Carps was focusing on the pickup truck in this case. Not that there's anything wrong with that! | ![]() |

And of course, no decent Hot Rod and Kustom show is complete without some fancy tunes. |
|
...and finally a word from our benefactor. Here's the man himself manning the microphone. I didn't think he needed any amplification myself, but obviously he wanted all the people on the other side of the island to hear him too. Thanks for the pics Carps. |
