Castlemaine Rods 40th/Australian Street Rodding 25th Anniversary

Formed in 1962, Castlemaine Rods is one of Australia's oldest Hot Rod Clubs. Australian Street Rodding Magazine has been the "bible" of Hot Rodding in Australia since 1977. As they are both based in Castlemaine, it seemed like a good idea to celebrate both Anniversaries together. As there was so much to do and so much beer to drink, it was decided to hold the event over 4 days. I headed down there with Choco Munday and his son Danny (aka Crash Cadillac) from the ACT. We left Canberra at 4:30am and after a stop for the obligatory Macca's breakfast (the only meal you should eat from there) and a quick stop for fuel, we made to Castlemaine just after lunch. As there wasn't a great deal going on at the time, we figured we'd better go and check out the pub, so... 4 hours later we emerged to find a whole lot more people had turned up and that there was FREE BEER! Hooray! I wasn't quite cheering Saturday morning, although I did fare somewhat better than Choco.

As we were there for almost 3 days, there's quite a few photos, around 70. I figured the best thing to do would be to break it up into each day. Get comfortable and have a look at some of Australia's best Hot Rods.

We had a ball and can't wait for the next one.
