Big Al's Poker Run 2005 - Page 7

My favourite Valiant, the VC, and by the three horizontal trim pieces on the rear quarter panel, you can tell that this one is a V8. The plates give you a hint that it's probably the original 273.

Charlie Vinci's pick-up was originally built by Les Moran, but before he could even drive it Charlie made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Now Les is building another one! No, Charlie, it's not for sale!

Here's a couple more shots of Colin's roadster. The engine is a 302 Cleveland and sports some pretty cool lakes pipes fabricated by Phil Pavicich.

Fair enough, the Clevo might not be 50s-era correct, but that trim is spot on!

Just a nice HR ute with a couple of extra cylinders for good measure.

Mmmm... Candy Apple Red XT GT. Possibly the least desirable of the GTs, but I've always had a soft spot for them ever since I cruised back from Ravenswood years ago alongside a white one. I thought the 230hp badge was the coolest thing!

You see all sorts of stuff at Big Al's. That's the great thing about it.

Even early Jap stuff! These two Mazdas were VERY cool and had very understated interiors, something a lot of the 'ricers' don't seem to understand. Not that these are ricers by any stretch!

Detail shot of Lloyd Collier's roadster (although I think he had just sold it). This was the Greg Tuck roadster, but Lloyd gave it just a little bit of a tickle. New paint, new trim, new motor, new front suspension and new wheels.

Just a little tickle!

Steve McGuinness gets ready to crank up 'Flathead Express'.
